Chairman’s Mesage

To all members of the MVS:
I am very proud that the MVS is one of the sixty recipients of this once in a lifetime award.
This award is to all members of the MVS and is something in which we can all take pride. It recognises the value placed on volunteering and reflects the hours spent by the members of the MVS in training, and putting that training to use to benefit their communities and other people.
We have experienced some challenging times as an organisation in recent years but 2012 has been distinguished by outstanding success. Nationally you, our volunteer members, supported the Jubilee Celebrations and the Olympics in the most professional and effective manner while, through our local Units, you continued to support your communities in many different ways. On behalf of Council, I would like to express my thanks and congratulations to every member of the service. It is you and your hard work that has made it possible for the MVS to be recognised in this way. I look forward to seeing the MVS build on the achievements of this most successful year.
Elfyn Hughes, Chair of Council
