New MVS vessel for London Units
The management team at City of London & Upper Thames Unit are proud to announce that a replacement vessel for Londinium 1 has been found and fully sponsored by the units benefactors ‘The Richardsons Trust’.
Londinium 1 was built in 1976 and has done sterling service throughout its time afloat with the Port of London Health Authority and then with the MVS City of London Unit, but sadly the time to pass her on has come.
The new vessel is a 50′ Tyne Class boat direct from the RNLI and was until a short time ago in service with them at Poole. She will, on delivery, go off to receive her new paint job as the latest addition to the MVS Fleet.
Following that she will return to her permanent mooring at the City of London Units base – HMS President for a renaming ceremony which will include a cadet band and invitations to join us.
