Award for Severn Unit at Tewkesbury’s Big Weekend

Big Weekend 01

The Severn Unit was kept busy at Tewkesbury’s Big Weekend by playing a part in all the water based activities from gathering plastic ducks from the duck racing to leading the parade of decorated boats.

HoU Nic Price said: “We also had the responsibility of looking after safety around the river during the two days and we were honoured to be presented with an award and a mascot from Avon Navigation Trust to thank us for our efforts”.

He added “The Unit’s ‘Water Display Team’ was also out giving displays on the river showing how to right an overturned dinghy and rescuing casualties from the water”.

Nic was also interviewed by BBC Radio Gloucestershire and presented cups to the winning Bell Boat Teams.
