Lamb Rescued by MVS in Gloucestershire
21 May 2015
On a recent training evening in their boat Minerva, the Tewkesbury based Severn Unit spotted a lamb which had fallen into the river.
It was unable to get out as it was stuck in the mud and had obviously been there some time.
Head of Unit Nic Price said “We went as close as we could to the bank without going aground and becoming stuck ourselves, then we tried various means to reach the lamb.
Volunteer Ben Foster-Smith eventually managed to throw a rope around the wet animal and haul it aboard to safety”.
It was then put back on dry land where it seemed none the worse for its experience.
