MVS Hero at Liverpool Cunard Event

MVS Port of Manchester volunteer Anthony Bonney is being hailed a hero after helping with a medical emergency at the Three Queens event in Liverpool at the weekend.
Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2 all visited the city for the 175th anniversary of the famous cruise line.
Anthony who is an advanced first aider, was walking away from the viewing area when he heard calls for a paramedic.
He was taken to an unconscious woman who turned out to be a diabetic.
Anthony said, “I shouted out if anyone had any Lucozade and I was handed a glucose gel which I gave to the woman.
She quickly came around and I got a round of applause”.
Later in the day Anthony helped a man who had fallen over and was bleeding from his mouth.
AVO North Chris Todd said, “Anthony acted as we would hope that all MVS members would act and in the best traditions of the service”.
