MVS on Show at Riverfest
The Isle of Wight Unit has spent the day down by the River Medina at Newport Harbour for the annual Riverfest.
The event has free activities for children and stands for charities to promote their work along with information about Isle of Wight ecology.
The aim is to raise awareness of the environmental and leisure benefits of the water environment and to promote organisations and businesses with an interest in the River Medina.
Links were made with the Environment Agency who had their mobile Command & Control Unit from the mainland on display.
The local Search & Rescue Organisation, WightSAR were also in attendance.
Like the MVS they are all volunteers and members of the Local Resilience Forum.
