London Units Train on the Thames

Members of the Lower Thames, City of London and Thanet units have spent two days team building on the Thames. learning new skills and practising old ones.

The group was working from Benson Waterfront in the Oxfordshire countryside and for some of the party this was their first experience of working inland waterways.

Boat handling skills were demonstrated by the experienced members together with instructions to the less experienced as to how to throw ropes over bollards and the correct ways to secure the boats while in locks.

The less experienced members were also given time at the helm of each boat in order to gain confidence.

Discussions are continuing to finalise details of the next training trip.
