Bristol Channel Training for MVS Severn

The Tewkesbury based Severn Unit have travelled from Sharpness to the Bristol Channel for their annual offshore training cruise organised by MVS Head of Seamanship Tim Huckvale.

Head of Unit Nic Price said, “This year we were lucky to have had perfect weather with warm sunshine and calm seas and we had a most successful cruise.

We visited Cardiff, Bristol and Portishead and were pleased to meet members from the Cardiff and Bristol Units during the week”.

The offshore trip gives members an opportunity to train in tidal waters and to put into practice all they have learned about boat handling, navigation, anchoring and VHF work.
