Maritime Volunteers Race to Help

MVS members from across the North West have attended the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race event in Liverpool.
The event marks the grand finale of the international sail race of over 40,000 miles with identical vessels raising money for worthy causes which tests the expertise of the crews.

Culture Liverpool hosted the event to welcome the teams and congratulate them on their achievement.
The MVS were invited to attend to provide water based support throughout the weekend.

Temporary Regional Volunteer Officer Alexander Rodgers said: “Attending events like this provides excellent training opportunities for our crew, publicity opportunities for us as an organisation and the opportunity to support the community by helping keep everyone safe on and around the water.
We would like to thank Culture Liverpool for their confidence in us and look forward to attending future events in the city.”
