MVS Rushden leads training for Local Teams

MVS Rushden is an active part of the Northamptonshire Local Authority’s Local Resilience Forum and regularly takes part in county wide resilience exercises where Blue Light professionals work with volunteers.

Members often provide training for other groups which has led to the Northants Lowland Search and Rescue and the Northants 4×4 Response Group significantly enhancing their capabilities in terms of water-based resilience working.

The Northants Emergency Rescue Corps has now created a new team of trained First Responders and Water Technicians (yellow and red helmets) who liaise with MVS Rushden in order to provide support to the Northants Fire and Rescue Water Rescue Team.

MVS Rushden is now training a team of ten drivers from the Northants 4×4 Response Team in DEFRA bank-side operations at the Rushden Lakes development in the town.
