Severn Unit Member helps with Poppy Appeal
Before the start of the second lockdown, Severn Unit member William Fish volunteered to help the local Tewkesbury branch of the Royal British Legion with the annual Poppy Appeal and manned the stall in the town for a number of days.
Will collected over £3,300 this year which is a remarkable achievement as the national figures for collections are down due to COVID-19.
Head of Unit Nic Price said, “I know how grateful the Royal British Legion is to Will for his help selling poppies every year but with the COVID-19 restrictions this year it has been even more difficult.
In order to comply with safety regulations this year a contactless payment machine was used and people were very generous with their support.”
