The Gloucestershire based Severn Unit hosted a training evening when they were joined by a party of German visitors from the town of Holzkirchen in Barvaria which is twinned with Tewkesbury.

Head of Unit Nic Price said, “We were delighted to welcome the visitors and we used four cruisers including MVS Minerva to take them up the River Avon to Strensham Lock where they received instruction on how a 17th Century lock still works.
We enjoyed meeting Christoph Schmid the Mayor of Holzkirchen and the rest of the group which included farmers, engineers, an ice cream maker and several from German water rescue organisations.”
