MVS Receives River Thames Accolade

Representatives of the Maritime Volunteer Service were honoured by the River Thames Society at their Annual General Meeting held in Staines-upon-Thames.

The society awards a trophy annually to organisations who have gone above and beyond in serving the community of the River Thames.
Previous winners have included the RNLI and the Metropolitan Police’s Marine Unit.
The shield and certificate were presented to Regional Volunteer Officer, James Deller by the Society’s President, Lord David Owen.

Speaking after the event, James Deller, Regional Volunteer Officer said: “It was privilege to accept this shield on behalf of the MVS.
We have been recognised for our work which is in keeping with our mission, namely to educate and preserve life.”
