Lifejacket Inspection for Severn Unit
19 January 2024
The start of the New Year is the time that Severn Unit members spend a training evening inspecting their lifejackets.
HOU Nic Price said “This is always a very important task when the unit ensures that the lifejackets are within date and in good condition.”
After the highest flood on the rivers Avon and Severn since 2007 the levels have now receded to near normal and the unit has been out on the water checking for any navigation hazards that may be left behind.
One of the jobs was to saw part of a big tree away from the navigation arch of King John’s Bridge where it had become lodged so that boats can now pass through without a problem.
