Tewkesbury based Severn Unit celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the service at the Tewkesbury Big Weekend where they played a prominent role in organising the river based activities and looking after safety issues afloat.
HOU Nic Price said “The Tewkesbury Big Weekend is a charity event visited by thousands of people and this was the 10th year it’s been held.
All our training vessels took part and MVS Minerva was open to the public throughout.
We were pleased to form the Guard of Honour to welcome the newly appointed Town Mayor Councillor Paul Jones and the Vicar of Tewkesbury Abbey the Revd Canon Nick Davies to the event”.
Later the dignitaries visited the MVS stand to hear about the work of the service over the last 30 years.
