Chief Volunteer Officer

Council has recently voted to accept the resignation of Don Downer as Chief Volunteer Officer, the duties of CVO will be undertaken by the Committee of Management, in accordance with CoM Terms of Reference, until a new appointment is made.

 

On behalf of all members, Council and CoM offer their sincere thanks for Don’s commitment and hard work in the post. During his tenure Don worked tirelessly to move the service forward. This was highlighted by illustrious and momentous occasions such as the Diamond Jubilee Pageant, the London Olympics and attending St. James Palace to collect The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award 2012 on behalf of the service.

 

CoM meetings will continue under the present arrangements with AVO Lynn Peppitt and AVO Chris Todd as joint Chair for the foreseeable future, with these Officers as de facto joint heads of operational matters.

The duties of AVO Central have been taken on by the AVOs North and South. AVO North, Chris Todd, is responsible for his own existing Area, including Scotland + Rushden Unit, East Anglia Region, CoL and Upper Thames Units and AVO South, Lynn Peppitt, is responsible for her own area + Tewkesbury, Wye Valley, Swansea, Milford Haven and Gravesend Units.
