MVS Other Ways To Help

Payroll Giving

If your employer, company or personal pension provider runs a Payroll Giving scheme, you can donate straight from your wages or pension. This happens before tax is deducted from your income.

To donate £1, you pay: 80p if you’re a lower rate taxpayer.

Everybody wins!

Become a Virtual Member

If you cannot commit your time to working with a Unit then by just being a member of the MVS, your contribution (which can be gift aided to raise an additional 25p in the pound!) will help to fund local activities.

Better still become an Operational Member

For those who are keen to get their hands dirty and join in the work, then become an operational member.

You'll be helping other members and those coming to the MVS to learn maritime skills with a whole range of activities.

You could be learning new skills yourself!

Unit Fundraising Team (UFRT)

Each unit has an ongoing need to need to bring in cash to physically keep it afloat and not just the boating side of things.

Boats need repair and insurance, but our kit and equipment need to be maintained and renewed.

Our crews need to be trained, all of which uses up our funds.
As a part of the team, you could help raise that money.

Even a day spent shaking a collection tin at the supermarket makes a difference to a unit bank account.

You could take part in some sponsored events to meet a specific fundraising target for the national or local activities.
