Social Media Challenge for MVS Communications Head
The MVS National Communications Manager, John Spencer-Barnes, issued a challenge to his contacts on Twitter to help him get 1000 new followers on the social network over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
John committed to paying £50 to the MVS if the challenge was met.
John says, “I’m a firm believer that the responsible use of social media by MVS units and individuals will help grow public knowledge and understanding of what we do as a service.
A huge number of interactions and first contact with the public come from the use of Facebook and Twitter and many new members have come forward through social media.
I would encourage units to use all the tools that are available to them to grow their profile in their local communities while adhering to the MVS social media policy.”
In the end John fell a little short of the target but has regardless donated the £50 to MVS funds.
