Onboard team training for Portsmouth

On a cold but dry day in early February 12 members of City of Portsmouth Unit, including several new recruits, a mustered on their vessel Arkwright at her Whale Island mooring.

They conducted alongside training covering safety, engine checks, navigation aids and mooring lines. This was followed by throw line and heaving line practice. Then the volunteers looked at the anchoring arrangements including the kedge.

Arkwright was also dressed overall which was something new for most members.

All in all, an enjoyable and instructive two and a half hours.
