The MVS unit in Kingston-upon-Thames on the non tidal part of the Thames, was formed in September 2019. Our primary purpose is to provide regular river patrols at weekends, with uniformed volunteers on board the former Thames Police Launch ‘Blue Light’.
We aspire to be ‘eyes along the river’ and to be a calming and reassuring presence for river users and people on the riverbank with a focus on safety and protection of property.
We provide training up to RYA Powerboat Level 2 standard in association with the local Sea Scouts.
