Severn Unit Takes Part in Exercise Avon Lock
An exercise to test teamwork for Severn Unit has taken place in Avon Lock at Tewkesbury.
HOU Nic Price said, “We are grateful to Head of Seamanship, Tim Huckvale, who planned the exercise which tested the ingenuity of our members.
MVS member William Fish volunteered to act as the casualty who had fallen into the lock, then other members had to work out the best way of successfully rescuing him using our rescue cradle”.
Avon Lock Keeper Nic Lancaster said, “I am happy to give my time to support the MVS training sessions.
It is reassuring to know that they are there should anyone get into difficulties on the river and they help and support the Avon Navigation Trust throughout the year”.
