MVS helps RNLI mark 50 Years in Morecambe
26 August 2016
Terrible weather didn’t dampen the celebrations of the RNLI’s 50 years in Morecambe.
It’s half-a-century since the charity first put a lifeboat into the town.
MVS National Communications Manager John Spencer-Barnes said, “It was one of the worst August days I can remember with strong winds and heavy rain and it was such a pity that it threatened to spoil so much hard work.
It was a great pleasure to support our friends from the RNLI who do such vital work on Morecambe Bay”.
The event was held at the Hovercraft Station near the Stone Jetty and those members of the public who did brave the elements to give their support had the opportunity to meet members of the crew and to get up close and personal with the craft and equipment they use.
