Swansea Unit exercise

Members of Swansea Unit provided an on-water demonstration of various rescue techniques to members of the public at the weekend during Swansea Sea Festival this weekend.

They showed a rescue line being thrown from the shore (with members of the public invited to ‘have a go’), a person being rescued from water via a Jason’s Cradle, a rescue from water by quoit line and a 14 man liferaft activation from floating valise being boarded by one MVS crew and two Royal Naval Reserve volunteers. A demonstration of a hand distress flare being set off topped off an exciting and informative display by our crews.
