Obituary: The Rt Hon Countess Mountbatten of Burma

The MVS regrets to announce that our former President, The Rt Hon Countess Mountbatten of Burma, CBE CD JP DL has died aged 93.
A statement issued on behalf of the Knatchbull and Mountbatten families said: “Patricia Mountbatten died peacefully on Tuesday 13th June at her home in Mersham, Kent, surrounded by her children”.
The Countess Mountbatten of Burma who survived an IRA bomb that was placed on the family boat as they holidayed off the coast of Sligo in Ireland on August 27 1979 was our President until she retired in 2013.
