Boating Fun for Chernobyl Children with Severn Unit

Severn Unit MVS joined with local sea cadets from TS Otter to help give children from Chernobyl a great day out on the River Avon.
Head of Unit Nic Price said, “We were pleased to assist the Sea Cadets by using two of our small boats to take the children out on the river as well as providing safety cover.
Following the catastrophic nuclear disaster at Chernobyl in 1986, charities arrange for a party of children to visit the Tewkesbury area each year so that they can have a holiday away from the contaminated area.”
