Recruitment Evening for MVS Port of Manchester
The MVS in Manchester is looking for people from all walks of life to help maintain the UK’s maritime heritage and no nautical experience is needed.
Regional Volunteer Officer, Alexander Rodgers said; “We are an increasingly active unit based on the historic and picturesque waters surrounding Salford including the Bridgewater Canal.
We provide training in nautical skills for all our members and we work to benefit our community here in Greater Manchester and in particular the Salford area.”
“We have members with varying skill sets from complete beginner to experienced master mariners and we welcome people into our unit at any level.
Even if you do not have boating skills, other skills you have will be transferable to the unit in some way.”
“The great thing about the MVS is that anyone can learn new skills and play a useful part in their local community.”
MVS Port of Manchester meet each Wednesday evening 19:00-21:00 at Eccles Gateway, 28 Barton Lane, Eccles, Salford M30 0TU.
The open evening will take place on 1st November from 6.30pm at the MVS unit at Eccles Gateway.
