Busy Summer for Severn Unit
18 July 2019
MVS Severn have had a busy summer with a number of jobs around the region.
HOU Nic Price said, “After the June floods receded, our first job was to move a huge tree which was blocking the main navigation arch of King John’s Bridge in Tewkesbury which is a vital link to the Town and the lock connecting the River Avon to the Severn.
With the help of our small boats we managed to get a rope round the trunk and a party of unit volunteers were able to pull it safely to shore so that the navigation could be re-opened.”
The unit also had a stand at Bredon’s Big Day Out on the Bredon Recreation Field.
The unit took along an inflatable rib on a trailer as part of the display which highlighted their local achievements.
