Trafalgar Night 2019
Members of the MVS have been celebrating Trafalgar Night at events all around the country.
Severn Unit were honoured when the Tewkesbury Borough Mayor accepted an invitation to attend their 19th Trafalgar Night Dinner at Brown’s Restaurant in the town.
Head of Unit Nic Price said, “We were very pleased to welcome Councillor Gill Blackwell as our principal guest and this is the first time the Borough Mayor has attended our Trafalgar Night Celebrations”.
During the evening RVO and Unit Treasurer Gordon McDonald and Deputy Head of Unit Jane Thomas were presented with their 25 year long service awards by Avon Navigation Trust Director Paul Cronin.
The MVS also celebrated Trafalgar Night at the Hurlingham Yacht Club in Putney.
Thames RVO, Phil Collins led the proceedings and the immortal spirit prayer with George Mellett leading the singing of the shanties.
Twenty MVS members attended from Medway and Kingston.
MVS members from across the north attended the Humber Unit dinner at the Wortley House Hotel in Scunthorpe.
