Statement on the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh
09 April 2021
The Maritime Volunteer Service is deeply saddened to hear of the death of Prince Philip and extends sincere condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family.
His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh was a seaman who started his life at sea in the Royal Navy in 1939.
He served in the Mediterranean and Pacific during World War 2 and was an inspiration to all mariners.
He will be sorely missed.
On behalf of all of our Volunteers I would like to pass on heartfelt sympathies and condolences to all the members of the Royal Family at this very sad time.
