Parade of Sail on Tyne to mark Remembrance Sunday

16 November 2021
A flotilla of boats set sail on the Tyne for the annual parade to mark Remembrance Sunday which is organised by the MVS.
Spectators lined the banks of the river to watch the poignant parade which included a wreath-laying and two-minute silence at 11am.
It was the ninth annual tribute organised by the Northumbria Unit which lead the procession of small boats.
Angela Carrington, head of the MVS unit, said: “Our tribute to the fallen attracts more people each year and we are proud to pay our respects in this unique way”.
