MVS attends Memorial Service for the Queen

Two members of MVS Northumbria represented the Maritime Volunteer Service at a special celebration of thanksgiving for the life of Her Majesty the Queen.

Regional Volunteer Officer Angela Carrington and the Unit’s longest serving member, Keith Newman attended the service at St Nicholas Cathedral in Newcastle.
Also in attendance were the High Sheriff of Tyne and Wear, the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear, the Lord Mayor of Newcastle, politicians, and other dignitaries.

The service was conducted by the Dean of Newcastle with an address about Her Majesty conducted by the Right Reverend Mark Wroe, Acting Bishop of Newcastle.
“It was an honour to be invited to the service and to represent the MVS,” said Angela, “Both Keith and I were very proud to be present and to pay our respects to our late Monarch.”
