Honorary Membership for Peter Lockwood
Peter Lockwood has been presented with honorary membership of the MVS.
Having served 12 years in the RNXS, Peter became a founder member of MVS Poole in 1994.
During his long association with the unit he has endeared himself to many members by his seamanship teaching abilities and calm and reassuring manner.
At a quiz night which was designed to hide the real reason for the gathering, many members and friends paid tribute to his work with the unit.
Peter said, “I really appreciate the opportunities and experiences I have had with the MVS and have had many enjoyable and inspirational moments with the service.
I think the most rewarding are instructing and watching newcomers to marine life learning and qualifying and showing their capabilities of taking over the skippering of small vessels.”
