Offshore Training Cruise for Severn Unit

The Tewkesbury based Severn unit have undertaken their annual training cruise down the Severn Estuary and the Bristol Channel.
Members were able to practice their boat handling and skills on four different boats including their own training vessel MVS Minerva.

HOU Nic Price said, “During the week members had the opportunity to take various boats from Sharpness to Portishead and Bristol and also bring a two masted motor sailing boat across from Cardiff, partly under sail.
We were also pleased to meet up with members of Bristol Unit in Portishead.
Our Water Display Team was asked to demonstrate to Portishead Marina staff how they use the rescue cradle to safely retrieve a casualty from the water.”
