RYA Success for Severn

This Autumn members of Severn Unit have been successful in achieving both their Power Boat 2 and Short Range VHF Radio Certificates.

HOU Nic Price said “Our candidates very much enjoyed the courses and received excellent instruction from the Bristol Maritime Academy at Portishead.
During their two-day Powerboat 2 course the members had plenty of opportunity to train afloat in Portishead Harbour and out in the Severn Estuary where they gained valuable experience out in these waters and the Unit congratulates them all on their success.”

The Unit has now finished their evening training sessions afloat and marked the occasion with their end of season fish & chip supper at the Nottingham Arms in Tewkesbury which was attended by over 20 members and family guests.

They will now continue with classroom training over the winter with time afloat in the day when the weather and river conditions are favourable.
