Severn Unit learn about French Foreign Legion

A new recruit to Severn Unit, Richard Jeynes, who founded the expedition company Trailquest gave a talk to the Unit on The Legion Project.
The project which is run in association with several UK universities is a long term archaeological investigation of French Foreign Legion forts and outposts in Morocco.

HOU Nic Price said “this was a fascinating talk and members were fortunate to have the opportunity to learn about the various artefacts that Richard and his colleagues found whilst excavating some of the forts and blockhouses in North Africa.
Richard studied archaeology at Durham University before embarking on an Army career and was very knowledgeable about the subject.”
