Gloucester Fire & Rescue Service visit Severn Unit

As support emergency service, members of the Tewkesbury based Severn Unit of the Maritime Volunteer Service were pleased to welcome Station Commander George Bryant and Crew Commander Adam Taleb from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue as their guest speakers at the end of February and were delighted that some MVS members from Bristol Unit were also able to join them. Head of Severn Unit Nic Price said “Following a presentation of the Incident Command structure of the Fire and Rescue Service members took part in a question and answer session.

Both units work with Gloucester Fire and Rescue during exercises throughout the year and can always be called upon if required during local emergencies. As such, they found the whole evening of great value to the Unit and further strengthens the ties between us”. In April both Severn and Bristol Units are taking part in a big exercise run by Gloucester Fire Brigade which will involve other local emergency services and volunteeer agencies.
