New team member in the South

Kerran Talbot has joined the Area Team in the South and is training as the Area Admin Officer with his sights set firmly on becoming the Deputy AVO.

Kerran has served 26 years in the Army, in The 1st Battalion The Staffordshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales’s) and later with the Royal Engineers.
For 20 years of his service he was involved in training and management and has always loved learning and passing on new skills.
To satisfy his love of learning he gained a BSc through the Open University.

When Kerran came out of the Army he worked for Vestas, the wind turbine blade manufacturer, where initially he learned to laminate blades but when an opportunity came along to work on the vessels used to transport the blades from the Isle of Wight to the mainland he took it.
As part of the job he took RYA & STCW 95 courses and gained the qualifications to enable him to be trained to drive the vessels.

When the factory closed, Kerran looked for something to occupy his time and found the MVS, joining the IOW unit.
Having looked at the service as a whole he saw opportunities where his experience could be useful and volunteered to take on some national work as well as working in the unit.
