MVS Bristol at Emergency Services Day

The RNLI and other regional emergency services were joined by the MVS for a 999 day on the Beach Lawns in Weston-super-Mare.

Councillor David Hitchins, this year’s Chairman of North Somerset Council visited the stall and the unit explained its maritime training role and the work they do in the designated Silver Control Room at Avonmouth.

The unit enjoyed meeting the local Sea Cadets, the Environment Agency and the Coastguard as well as many others.

Members also spoke to many members of the public who were interested in what the service does.
