Training Opportunities for the New Season
Starting from this month a list of training courses open to MVS members will be published in the member’s area of the MVS website.
Courses listed will include:
RYA ashore courses organised by MVS members who are qualified RYA assessors for courses named on the MVS RYA Recognition certificate.
RYA afloat courses run at RYA afloat RTCs.
The assessor may or may not be a member of the MVS.
They must be attached to an afloat RYA RTC in order to assess and to award certificates for the relevant afloat course.
Courses may take place at a RYA sea school which has a close working relationship with a unit or region.
Places may be open to MVS members from any unit.
Training and assessment courses run by other maritime organisations such as the MCA, providers of Sea Survival courses, and marine pollution organisations.
In-house MVS courses (other than those which are by invitation only).
Further course details must be obtained from the contact named on the list.
Information is confidential to MVS members only.
Members should discuss their intentions with their Unit Head, RVO/DRVO or Regional/Area Subject Specialist Officer, as appropriate.
Please note:
Participation may be on a first come first served basis.
Preference may be given to or restricted to local members for some courses for operational reasons.
Cost and payment information must be obtained from and arranged with the organiser.
Members are responsible for their own travel arrangements, victualing and overnight accommodation if applicable.
You can find the details under MVS & Maritime Events on the members section of the site.
It’s YOUR opportunity! Make the most of it!
