It was a busy Remembrance Day for members of MVS Northumbria who organised a Parade of Sail on the Tyne.

The day started with an interview on BBC Radio Newcastle with the Head of Unit Angela Carrington and PR Officer Keith Newman.

The unit was joined on the river by the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Unit, The North East Maritime Trust, and private boats Dreymas and Humber Rib for the flotilla through all the bridges.

At 11am Angela Carrington laid a poppy wreath in the Tyne and all boats observed two minutes silence whilst holding a steady position between the Tyne and the Millennium Bridge.

Many shoppers on the quayside also fell silent and joined in with the act of remembrance.
