Remembrance Parade of Sail on the River Tyne

MVS Northumbria has organised a Remembrance Day Parade of Sail on the River Tyne for the fourth year.

The unit led a small procession of vessels up the river before stopping between the iconic Millennium and Tyne Bridges to take part in the two-minute silence where they placed a special wreath into the river.

The Newcastle Quayside Market was taking place next to the river and hundreds of shoppers were able to witness the tribute.

Other river users including the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, Northumbria Police and the North East Maritime Trust took part in the parade.
